Dr. Abdul-Jalil Ibrahim is a distinguished scholar and practitioner in Islamic banking and finance, with extensive expertise in Shariah-compliant product development, governance frameworks, and ethical investment models.
Dr. Ibrahim has provided consultancy to global institutions, including the Islamic Development Bank Institute and the United Nations Development Programme. His work on green sukuk, Islamic social finance, and social entrepreneurship has positioned him as a thought leader in the industry. His academic contributions include publications on Islamic venture capital, letter of guarantee, Islamic social finance, and the integration of Islamic finance with sustainability and the circular economy.
In addition to his Islamic finance specialization, Dr. Ibrahim has professional banking experience with Standard Chartered Bank and Coface, spanning cash management, factoring, and credit insurance. This blend of practice and research allows him to bridge theory with real-world applications in the financial sector.
With over 16 years of experience in banking, finance, and academia, Dr. Ibrahim currently serves as a Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he teaches courses in business finance, investment, microfinance, and petroleum economics. He holds a PhD in Islamic Finance and Economy from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Doha, Qatar, MSc in Energy Studies from University of Dundee, United Kingdom. Through his teaching, research, and advisory work, he continues to advance the role of Islamic finance as a credible and sustainable alternative in Ghana and beyond.
Mr. Mohammed Fawzi A. Amadu is a Management Consultant with expertise in Management Information Systems, Management, and Islamic Finance. Having worked as an IT Consultant in the United States at both the State (Ohio ODJFS) and Federal (Department of Defence, DFAS) levels, he developed an interest in Islamic Finance when Dow Jones started a course on Islamic Investing.
Mr. Amadu developed his Islamic Finance career when he moved to the United Arab Emirates to teach at the College of Business and Economics at the United Arab Emirates University while deepening his Islamic Finance knowledge and developing his network through participation in 3 consecutive years of the International Islamic Finance Forum in Dubai.
He made his practical foray into Islamic Finance through raising funding from the UAE Finance projects in Africa. Developing Islamic Finance as an addition to the global financial landscape has since been his work. Mr. Amadu holds a Bsc. in Management Information Systems for Iowa State University and an MBA from Bowling Green State University, he further holds many certificates in Islamic Finance including Integrated Islamic Knowledge, a certificate as a Certified Waqf Practitioner. He has also published in the area of Islamic Finance.
With almost 24 years of practicing and promoting Islamic Finance, Mr. Amadu is persisting in his effort to develop Islamic Finance solutions in advancing socio-economic change through his Management Consultancy work as a Principal Partner with Dar Al Istithmaar.

Dr. Arbouna holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Jurisprudence (Fiqh) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a PhD in Islamic Law (Fiqh al-Mu‘amalat) from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. This strong academic foundation has allowed him to bridge classical Islamic jurisprudence with modern financial practice, positioning him as a sought-after advisor and Shariah scholar.
He has advised on the successful conversion of conventional banks into Islamic financial institutions, served on numerous Shariah Boards, and overseen the structuring of a wide range of Shariah-compliant financial products and services. His expertise spans treasury and hedging instruments, legal and financial documentation, and the research and development of innovative financial solutions. In addition, Dr. Arbouna has contributed to fintech and blockchain research, ensuring that Shariah governance remains relevant in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

Professor Billah holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Law from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a PhD in Law with a specialization in Islamic finance from the University of London, United Kingdom.
His expertise covers Islamic finance, Islamic investment, insurance, sukuk and capital markets, petroleum trade and finance under Shariah standards, international trade, halal standards, and corporate mu‘amalat.
